Oil in the Arctic

Oil in the Arctic

FISH FINALLY EXTINCT.

Is that the headline we're waiting for?

The Arctic ice caps are going to melt by August and all everyone is fighting over is the oil.

Doesn't that worry you a little bit?

I read it in the paper the other day.  The five countries bordering the waters are already fighting over the massive oil reserves the waters harbour... One has already announced plans to set up an underwater marine institute, the others are already planning to extend their continental shelf claims so that they can own more water - and therefore oil.

Nobody seems to realize that the ice caps melting could actually be dangerous to marine life.  That fish -- and life dependent on fish -- and ultimately we (since that's who we eventually care about) -- could actually die.

Oil, diamonds, petrol, gold... keep mining, earthlings, while you still have the chance.  Soon you won't even have an earth, so you might as well mine as much of it as you can while you have the chance.

I read it on a bumper sticker a long time ago.

"If we ignore the environment long enough, maybe it will simply go away".

Looks like the attempt has begun.
